New "Diamonds" Sketch

Its been hovering around 105 degrees in Portland for most of the week. My two year old told me that we needed to spray the flowers this morning cause they looked "Sad." Good observation. My beautiful flowers are looking so pathetic. Sigh . . . At least the roses are hanging in for the most part. With all this heat, ice has been on the mind. Pretty sparkly ice!

For Joshua

One of our friends broke his arm in a skateboarding accident this weekend. His first request after surgery was for a time machine so he could go back and erase the tumble he took.
I thought this would be an appropriate card. ")

Still have not burned down the house! More Wood Burned Note Cards . . .

I still have to round corners on a few of the cards but wanted to get them posted. The Circle cards will be sold as a set of three. I am currently working on a few whimsical BIG bug cards - Ladybug, dragonfly, ant etc. May try to tackle a few airplanes next. My Godson is nuts for them.

Sofie "Wisdom" - 5x7 Final

Mexican Folk Art Painting - Amate Bark Painting

Just discovered this amazing art form while investigating images that would help inspire me in a birthday present I am creating for a friend. Above are my rough draft takes on it. At the very top are examples of the real thing. AMAZING! Wow. The colors are so bold and fantastic!

Garden, Weeding and SLUGS . . .

I have had it with these little flower eating monsters! I have been out for the last few days, hitting the garden hard, deadheading and weeding, and these little suckers are everywhere! They're trying to eat through my veggie garden. Har humph.... To add insult to injury... while cleaning and reorganizing the art room. This sketch I doodled a few summers ago appeared.
Are they trying to tell me something....are the slugs after me?? Uggg.....Hmmm...idea for a slug mafia squad...where's my pencil.....

I entered my Happy Flower Vines design in the "Fabric of the Week" contest and won 5 yards of fabric! I can't wait to make the girls sundresses or skirts! Now I just have to figure out how to sew . . . . A Give Away may be in the works as well, so stay tuned! You can check out the article here on the Spoonflower Blog!
