3rd Grade Auction Project 2010!

Fruit of the Spirit 36"x48" canvas paper, paper, gold leaf, and acrylic paint

The kids did a great job painting the fruit on the canvas paper (which were cut out and glued on the canvas with Fabritac.) They then wrote out the words in bubble letters. These were traced onto map paper and then cut out and glued on with a special paper glue. We talked about how when we spend time in God's word, it acts as our "map" towards gaining these characteristics in our lives.
White acrylics (with touches of oranges, blues, greens, and yellows) were used to tie the piece together. Gold leaf was then applied to make the letters "pop."

Close up.

The "practice" piece that will go to our teacher as a thank you gift from the class.

Great job kids!!! Whoo hoo! ")

Mass Amounts of Glitter & Stickers EVERYWHERE!

We had a glitter and sticker fest here last night. I have been working a lot and thought it would be a fun project to make our Valentine's with my three year old. What is it with three year olds and glitter? She reacts to glitter like some people react to rock stars. Too funny. She LOVES to paint and I had no idea what to do with the volume of paintings she produces. DING! Idea . . I used the paintings as a background for the Valentines, cut a few doily hearts in half and let her loose with the stickers and glitter.
We had a great time bonding over glue sticks. ")
Hope you all have a colorful and fun Valentine's Day!!
